LG Issues Press Invites for April 28: G4 Inbound!

We’re just catching our breath around here from the S6 and M9 launch, and now there is news of more flagship Android phones coming our way!

Earlier today LG sent out invites to a press event that will take place on April 28/29 at locations around the world. LG will hold simultaneous events in in New York, London, Paris, Seoul, Singapore, and Istanbul. The image on the invite has a clear leather texture with the phrase, “See the Great. Feel the Great.” Upon close inspection you will see that the ‘G’ used in the phrase is one used in the logo for LG’s popular G series flagship. This all but confirms that we can expect to see the G4 unveiled at the event. Earlier today we brought you possible benchmarks of that device, which suggested it will run a Snapdragon 808. While the rumors have been plentiful concerning the G4 they have been all over the place. Several sources claim the G4 will feature a new premium form factor, made of metal, while other have said the G4 will sport a a curved display similar to the Gflex 2.

The leather texture on the invite makes you wonder if LG might use leather somehow in the design of G4. We certainly haven’t seen any leaks to point toward a leather back, but it would be an interesting route for the G series. There have also been rumblings of a G4 Note device in the past few weeks, might we see LG unveil this device on April 28 as well? Do you see any hidden clues in LG’s invite? Whatever LG has up their sleeve, we will bring you all the breaking news right here at HOA!

I fell in love with Android with the Nexus One release and realized that it was superior to iOS in all the ways I care about. I still use a Mac (and an iPhone for the camera), but my Apple tech products pale in comparison to my number of Android devices (watches, tablets, and phones). When I’m not rooting/modding one of my many Android phones or doing math/programming, you can find me taking in Phoenix Suns/Arizona Diamondbacks games in downtown Phoenix, and drinking good beer!"
