Verizon Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop Update Inbound!

No sooner than I published my previous post detailing Lollipop updates to the LG G3 and Sprint S5 Active, I came upon Verizon documentation stating that the Lollipop update to their Note 4 variant is rolling out starting today! I was going to combine this with the previous post, but I think this news is big enough to stand on its own. I have been patiently waiting for my Verizon Note 4 Lollipop update since I saw Sprint users enjoying Lollipop on their Note 4 over a month ago.

Apparently this update will come in two parts as build VRU1BOAF. Once I actually receive the update on my phone I will confirm whether it is 5.0, 5.0.1, or 5.0.2, if one of you receives it first please share! This update will finally bring material design and Lollipop notifications to the Verizon Note 4. Samsung also added in Smart Lock, Do Not Disturb mode, notification interaction on the lock screen, and floating action buttons for Messaging and the Calendar.

Verizon is also finally inlcuding VoLTE for the Note 4 in this update. With this feature you should see the option to place HD voice calls and video chat from your dialer, provided you call someone that also has a Verizon phone with VoLTE. Quick, go see if your phone is getting the OTA and let us know what else we can expect! Check out the changelog below for the rundown of major changes.

I fell in love with Android with the Nexus One release and realized that it was superior to iOS in all the ways I care about. I still use a Mac (and an iPhone for the camera), but my Apple tech products pale in comparison to my number of Android devices (watches, tablets, and phones). When I’m not rooting/modding one of my many Android phones or doing math/programming, you can find me taking in Phoenix Suns/Arizona Diamondbacks games in downtown Phoenix, and drinking good beer!"
