Earlier today Verizon updated their LG G3 support page with details about the Lollipop update for the device. If you don’t want to wait on the impending OTA you can head to the Verizon Software Upgrade Tool for the G3 and try to upgrade that way, some users have reported success. Unfortunately, if you’re like me and use a Mac or Linux computer you will be out of luck as this tool is only for Windows’ machines. The Lollipop version is apparently 5.0.1 and will bring Material Design and all the standard Lollipop goodies to Verizon’s version of the LG. If you’re not impatient and can wait on the OTA it should be rolling out shortly with a size of over 700 MBs, so make sure you keep your G3 constantly charged up! The Verizon G3 is getting Lollipop just two weeks before LG holds the G4 unveiling event at simultaneous worldwide locations on April 28. We recently saw a huge leak of pictures pulled from an entire microsite for the G4 over the weekend. Stay here at High on Android for more updates regarding the G4, and in the meantime enjoy Lollipop on your G3!
