LG G4 Official Release Date and Final Specs!

The LG G4 has finally been unveiled today!  Many of the new features we already knew about such as the fast F1.8 lens on the rear camera, Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, 5.5-inch 1440P screen, and leather back have been confirmed.

What’s new that was announced today that we didn’t know about this bad boy yet?

First, the rear camera has full manual mode with RAW capture along with ability to change ISO, shutter speed, and white balance.  The rear camera now features a whopping 1/2.6″ sensor (same size as Sony Exmor IMX240 sensor found in Galaxy S6/S6 Edge) so we can expect pretty good low-light photos, perhaps a tad better than the S6/S6 Edge due to its faster F1.8 lens (vs. F1.9 on S6/S6 Edge).  And yes, don’t forget the laser focus, it may be the edge G4 has over its competition this year, especially on low-light/action shots.

Second, LG G4 will feature a removable back cover along with removable battery and microSD card slot.  What’s interesting is that LG claims their microSD card slot supports up to 2TB.  We will have to double-check this but it may not be a new feature as other Android smartphones should also support 2TB micro-SD cards  It’s probably not stated in other phones as higher-storage microSD cards did not exists for that long but we will find out soon.

Third, LG G4 will be available on all 4 major U.S. carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon networks.  US Cellular will be carrying them also.  We do highly recommend you avoid AT&T or Verizon as they may lock the bootloaders (again).

The LG G4 will be released in South Korea first on April 29th (which is actually today since Korea is a day ahead of U.S.) and release date for U.S/international will be in some time in May (we don’t have exact date yet).
