Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 Leaked

SamMobile recently reported that the successor to the Galaxy Tab S, the Galaxy Tab S2, would come in 8.0 and 9.7 inch variants. Now, Onleaks has posted a leaked image of the reported device on Twitter.  The build appears to be all metal and similar to the Galaxy Tab A series. The tablet features the classic Samsung home button, which will reportedly feature a fingerprint scanner. From the picture we can also see slots for a MicroSD card and SIM card, most likely the LTE version of the Galaxy Tab S2 will come later this year.

The Tab S2 will reportedly be announced in June, just like the original Tab S series last year. Both tablets should feature Super AMOLED displays with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 in a 4:3 ratio, 64-bit octa-core Exynos processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage on board, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac/b/g/n, LTE Category 6 connectivity. We expect a 8MP camera at the back and a 2.1MP shooter around front. Of course the Galaxy Tab S2 will run Lollipop out of the box, but we don’t know what version just yet. The most interesting news out of the specs list is that all variants this year will run Samsung’s Exynos processor.

Overall the Tab S2 looks like a solid tablet offering, but it doesn’t look groundbreaking from the information we have so far. I am interested, but my Dell Venue 7800 from CES is still doing the job for me in the small tablet space. Keep following HOA for pricing and release information as we get closer to June!

I fell in love with Android with the Nexus One release and realized that it was superior to iOS in all the ways I care about. I still use a Mac (and an iPhone for the camera), but my Apple tech products pale in comparison to my number of Android devices (watches, tablets, and phones).
