Huawei Sends Out Invites to US Media Event on June 2

After the announcement of the Huawei P8 and P8 Max last month, many of us stateside were wondering if we would ever see those phones or similar Huawei devices launch in US. We might not have to wait long to get the answers to those questions as Huawei has sent out invitations to a US based event in New York City on June 2. The event invite does not have much detail, it only says “See what we’re unlocking next.”

From the picture on the invite, it looks like some sort of phone behind the patch of holes. I personally would like to see a release of the Huawei P8 Max in the US as it looks like a pretty interesting small tablet option. At 6.8 inches, I would hardly call it a phone but I’d love to get my hands on one to see what the usability is like and how it compares to my Nexus 7 in terms of size. Huawei is a company that continues to break into the US market, there have even been rumors that they will manufacture the 2015 Nexus phone. Some are speculating that we might also finally see a Huawei Watch unveiled at this event. Either way, I’m definitely interested in finding out more about the company and seeing what they have in store, more options is never a bad thing in the Android world! Stay tuned to HOA as we bring you more on Huawei, including the big announcement on June 2.

"I am currently a researcher and Adjunct Professor at Arizona State University and Grand Canyon University. I fell in love with Android with the Nexus One release and realized that it was superior to iOS in all the ways I care about. I still use a Mac (and an iPhone for the camera), but my Apple tech products pale in comparison to my number of Android devices (watches, tablets, and phones). When I’m not rooting/modding one of my many Android phones or doing math/programming, you can find me taking in Phoenix Suns/Arizona Diamondbacks games in downtown Phoenix, and drinking good beer!"
