It looks like we have some indication of the off-contract retail price of the LG G4 after contests by T-Mobile and Sprint specify the actual retail price of their prizes. This has been a common way to gain insight into a flagship phone’s off-contract price, and proved fairly accurate for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and HTC One M9. According to the two contest screenshots from Sprint and T-Mobile, the LG G4 will be priced at $600 off-contract.
The $600 price is most likely for the base model G4, with the plastic back instead of leather. At this price the G4 is priced a bit lower than the Samsung Galaxy S6 series and the HTC One M9. The $600 price tag is also the same price the G3 launched with last summer. Whether or not the $50 savings over an S6 or M9 makes a difference remains to be seen, but it will be interesting to see what the on-contract pricing is once carriers release that information. We have heard rumors that Verizon may offer the G4 at $99 off-contract as they did with the G3 last year. At that price it would be a tempting offer… even with Verizon’s ugly logo on the back!
