The Moto G (Motorola model XT1540) leaks keep coming fast and furious the past few weeks. Last week we saw leaks that suggested a slight redesign on the back of the phone, along with a 13 MP rear shooter. Today TechnoBuffalo has obtained some more professional looking shots of the upcoming Moto G. The design still looks very much in line with what we saw from last week’s leaks.
The reported internal hardware specs for this year’s Moto G are a bit disappointing, with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of onboard storage. The budget smartphone space is becoming very crowded, Motorola will need to do more with future Moto G iterates to continue dominating the market. The phone is also rumored to feature a 720p display, coming up short of the 1080p display offered on budget phones from Alcatel and ASUS. The redesign of the back does look quite nice, but I believe the price point will be the determining factor in how well this year’s Moto G performs. If the price is below $200, I can see the phone doing well, but it might have a difficult time selling at the rumored $200 price point.
Last year Motorola launched their new phones in September, we expect a pretty similar pattern here in 2015. Still it’s always nice to get an official announcement sooner rather than later. As always, we will keep you up to date on all Moto G and Moto X news right here at HOA!
