OnePlus 2 to feature 4GB LPDDR4 RAM

OnePlus announced today on their forums that the OnePlus 2 will feature 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. They also claimed that this is the final spec tease they will release before July 27 when they official unveil the phone. I’m actually more excited about the spec tease ending than I am about the 4GB of RAM, but that’s actually pretty cool too! The Snapdragon 810 can easily make use of 4GB and we’ve already seen on the Zenfone 2 that more RAM always helps when using multiple apps simultaneously. In addition, the LPDDR4 RAM should make battery life a bit better, who doesn’t love longer battery life?

Thus far, the OnePlus 2 is shaping up to be a beastly phone, with significantly more impressive specs than the OnePlus One last year. We know the phone will feature the Snapdragon 810 processor with 4 GB of LPDDR4 RAM, a fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C, it will likely be offered in 3 storage variants, and the phone will cost less than $450. We have quite a bit of information about the phone already but now we can relax and wait for official unveiling on July 27, streamed in Virtual Reality! Get your cardboard units ready!

I fell in love with Android with the Nexus One release and realized that it was superior to iOS in all the ways I care about. I still use a Mac (and an iPhone for the camera), but my Apple tech products pale in comparison to my number of Android devices (watches, tablets, and phones). When I’m not rooting/modding one of my many Android phones or doing math/programming, you can find me taking in Phoenix Suns/Arizona Diamondbacks games in downtown Phoenix, and drinking good beer!"
