ASUS ZenPad S 8.0 available at Best Buy now

ASUS unveiled their new ZenPad lineup back at Computex earlier this year. One of the highlights of the new tablet lineup is the quality specs for an incredibly affordable price. We have been waiting for these tablets to become available here in the US; today Best Buy posted the ZenPad S 8.0 on their site with a $199 price tag.

The tablet features an 8 inch 2048×1536 display with 32GB of storage, and 2 GB of RAM. The tablet is of course powered by an Intel chip inside, specifically the Atom Z3560 chipset with a 1.83 GHz Quad-core CPU. The tablet also features a mediocre 5 MP camera at the rear with a 2 MP shooter around front for selfies.  The tablet is thankfully running Android 5.1 out of the box.

If you’re looking for a budget tablet with a 4:3 aspect ratio, this might be a good option. The 4:3 ratio is great for reading and other tablet tasks, but you will get black bars when watching movies and Youtube videos. If you’re interested, you can grab the ZenPad S 8.0 from Best Buy at the link below.

"I am currently a researcher and Adjunct Professor at Arizona State University and Grand Canyon University. I fell in love with Android with the Nexus One release and realized that it was superior to iOS in all the ways I care about. I still use a Mac (and an iPhone for the camera), but my Apple tech products pale in comparison to my number of Android devices (watches, tablets, and phones). When I’m not rooting/modding one of my many Android phones or doing math/programming, you can find me taking in Phoenix Suns/Arizona Diamondbacks games in downtown Phoenix, and drinking good beer!"
