Motorola sends invites for July 28 launch event

Motorola sent out media invites this morning to a launch event on July 28. The event will be held simultaneously in London, New York, and São Paulo. We’ve seen an awful lot of Moto G 3rd generation leaks lately, so it would make plenty of sense to see that device announced at this event. On the other hand, we’re also expecting a new Moto X and Moto 360 in the next few months, maybe Motorola wants to give us everything at one event? If you look carefully you will see the “XOX” in the invite looks a lot more like “XGX”, is this on purpose? Perhaps this means we will see the Moto X, Moto G, and the rumored Moto X Sport?  Perhaps I just like decrypting media invites too much.

The overall theme for the event is that we’re all in a relationship with our phone and Motorola thinks they can help us improve that relationship. I’m holding out hope that we see the new Moto X, even though the typical flagship event for Motorola is in late August or early September. I also think the new Moto 360 is a real possibility. Perhaps, Motorola will surprise us and introduce something entirely new like the Moto Hint? Let me know in the comments what you think we’ll see on July 28!

I fell in love with Android with the Nexus One release and realized that it was superior to iOS in all the ways I care about. I still use a Mac (and an iPhone for the camera), but my Apple tech products pale in comparison to my number of Android devices (watches, tablets, and phones). When I’m not rooting/modding one of my many Android phones or doing math/programming, you can find me taking in Phoenix Suns/Arizona Diamondbacks games in downtown Phoenix, and drinking good beer!"
