New Note 5 photos show software/S-Pen silo

The Galaxy Note 5 has been a hot topic the past few weeks. We expect Samsung to send out invites soon for a August 12 or August 13 unveiling event. Today some new photos surfaced via French site Nowherelese. The new photos give us our first look at Touchwiz on the Note 5. It appears that Samsung has stuck with an overall familiar UI design. We can clearly see the rounded and bubbly icons on the home screen along with the AT&T bloatware.

The most interesting part of this leak is the other pair of photos. Both of these photos showcase the S-Pen silo. It was previously rumored that the S-Pen one the Note 5 would have an auto-eject or click mechanism in place of the familiar manual removal method. These new photos show that the Note 5 still retains a small gap between the S-Pen silo and body for removal via fingernail. I was pretty excited about the possibility of a click mechanism to release the S-Pen, but it appears the gap on the Note 5 is small enough to not detract from the overall look of the phone. We will continue monitoring any new Note 5 information right up to the announcement and release next month!

"I am currently a researcher and Adjunct Professor at Arizona State University and Grand Canyon University. I fell in love with Android with the Nexus One release and realized that it was superior to iOS in all the ways I care about. I still use a Mac (and an iPhone for the camera), but my Apple tech products pale in comparison to my number of Android devices (watches, tablets, and phones). When I’m not rooting/modding one of my many Android phones or doing math/programming, you can find me taking in Phoenix Suns/Arizona Diamondbacks games in downtown Phoenix, and drinking good beer!"
