OnePlus is currently holding their VR launch event to unveil the OnePlus 2. The VR itself turned out to be quite the disaster. Not only was it blurry and difficult to see while using cardboard, the event restarted entirely if the app happened to crash or you back out of it to do something else. Overall I’d see the event it self was a pretty big fail, they could have at least provided a regular stream. Thankfully OnePlus did post the unveiling video on Youtube shortly after the VR event began.
In the video we see the confirmed specs of Snapdragon 810, USB TYPE-C, 4 GB RAM, fingerprint scanner, 13 MP camera with laser autofocus, and a metal frame around the outside. Outside of the physical home button and metal frame, the design looks pretty much the same as last year in my opinion. I’m not really in love with this phone, but I’ll probably still get one to put it through the paces. Who else is planning to pick up a OnePlus 2?
UPDATE: Sales of the OnePlus 2 start in the US, Canada, India, EU, and China on August 11! It will roll out in Southeast Asia in Q4 of 2015. The OnePlus 2 is officially priced starting at $329!
