Galaxy Note 5 specs leaked by Evan Blass

Popular leaked Evan Blass (@evleaks) followed up his post last night of the Note 5 and S6 Edge+ renders with a list of reported specs for the Note 5. Unfortunately, the list will not make some of us very happy. There has been an ongoing discussion about whether or not the Note 5 will indeed contain a microSD slot for expandable storage. According to Evan:

Samsung Noble (SM-N920/self-reported): Exynos 7420 SoC (4×2.1GHz+4×1.5GHz), 5.66″ 2560×1440, 4GB/32GB, 16MP/5MP, 5.1.1, no SD.

It looks like his sources are claiming that the Note 5 will not have expandable storage. This is pretty disappointing for those of us that use the Note 5 as a big-time productivity device for work. It is also noteworthy that the source claims that the Exynos 7420 will be inside and not the 7422. We heard some previous rumors from SamMobile that the 7422 was pretty much confirmed for the Note 5 this year. All of the other specs are well aligned with what we’ve heard from the other leaks coming out. We know that Evan and SamMobile both have a pretty reliable track record, so it will be interesting to see who is correct on the SoC. We won’t have to wait much longer, we’re only 12 days away from Samsung’s big event on August 13, get hyped! (not the fake OnePlus hype, but the real hype where you actually care about the phone)

"I am currently a researcher and Adjunct Professor at Arizona State University and Grand Canyon University. I fell in love with Android with the Nexus One release and realized that it was superior to iOS in all the ways I care about. I still use a Mac (and an iPhone for the camera), but my Apple tech products pale in comparison to my number of Android devices (watches, tablets, and phones). When I’m not rooting/modding one of my many Android phones or doing math/programming, you can find me taking in Phoenix Suns/Arizona Diamondbacks games in downtown Phoenix, and drinking good beer!"
