When I read the rumors that Samsung would unveil a keyboard case for the Note 5 and S6 Edge+, I was a bit…skeptical. In 2015, who uses a physical keyboard? Well, Samsung surprised me and many others when they announced the above physical keyboard case for both the Note 5 and S6 Edge+ today.
The cover has four rows in addition to physical buttons for the home, back, and recent apps. The case will cost a whopping $80 and be available in black, silver, and gold color options. The keyboard itself is actually capacitive, meaning that as you type the buttons are pressing down on the actual display of your phone. There are no additional features here, no built-in battery, no fancy bluetooth, just a keyboard…and a case…a kinda ugly case. The good news (I guess), is that you can use the case/cover without the keyboard. This allows you to utilize the phone without half your screen real estate being used. Overall I feel like this is an inconvenient case for me, but there are surely some who love physical keyboards and will appreciate this new option from Samsung.
I will probably review this case on my Youtube channel…just because it is different. I can’t wait for the endless comments on why I wasted $80 on it. Is this case an abomination to the beauty of the S6 Edge+ and Note 5?
