Android Pay may Launch on September 16

According to a Verizon internal document leaked today it looks like Android Pay may launch on September 16. We had previously heard that the launch day would be August 26, but that day came and went with Google telling everyone to wait awhile. Both Phandroid and Droid Life have independently confirmed that September 16 will be the new date for the launch of Google’s mobile payments system on Android. Since we heard this before and it didn’t happen, I’d still take it with a grain of salt for now, but we might have multiple new mobile payment options (Samsung Pay being the other) on Android this month. Who’s pumped to swipe their phone at the credit card terminal soon?

I fell in love with Android with the Nexus One release and realized that it was superior to iOS in all the ways I care about. I still use a Mac (and an iPhone for the camera), but my Apple tech products pale in comparison to my number of Android devices (watches, tablets, and phones). When I’m not rooting/modding one of my many Android phones or doing math/programming, you can find me taking in Phoenix Suns/Arizona Diamondbacks games in downtown Phoenix, and drinking good beer!"
