At this point it looks like we’re getting an event for Google’s new Nexus phones on September. In addition, we found out new Chromecasts are on deck for that same event. As we get closer to the event plenty of details are sure to leak out regarding the new devices. This morning Droid Life posted the alleged names of the new Nexus devices: the LG Nexus 5X and the Huawei Nexus 6P. The Nexus 5X. Several media outlets have floated the 5X named for the LG Nexus the past few weeks, but this is the first we’re hearing of the 6P name for the Huawei-made device.

I don’t really understand what 6P stands for. I looked back in the history of Huawei devices and they do have a flagship “P series”, but that doesn’t make any sense to transfer over to the Nexus naming. Presumably Google will give us some reasoning for these names at the actual event. According to Droid Life, their source also confirmed that the most recent leaks for the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P ( both shown above) are completely accurate. We shouldn’t have to wait too long as the event is allegedly taking place in 10 days or so. Keep it locked to HOA as bring you the breaking stories through the launch of the new Nexus devices, Chromecasts, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

"I am currently a researcher and Adjunct Professor at Arizona State University and Grand Canyon University. I fell in love with Android with the Nexus One release and realized that it was superior to iOS in all the ways I care about. I still use a Mac (and an iPhone for the camera), but my Apple tech products pale in comparison to my number of Android devices (watches, tablets, and phones). When I’m not rooting/modding one of my many Android phones or doing math/programming, you can find me taking in Phoenix Suns/Arizona Diamondbacks games in downtown Phoenix, and drinking good beer!"
