Google Play Music to Get $14.99 Family Plan Tomorrow

At this point it looks like Android Police is going to leak all the details of tomorrow’s Google press event well ahead of time. Earlier we told you about their report that included pricing and availability for both the Nexus 5X and 6P, and now they’re back with even more! According to their report, Google will launch a $14.99 family plan option for Play Music All Access. There is no doubt that Google is looking to compete with Apple Music’s $14.99 option for families looking to stream on the same account.

This is definitely a fantastic option if you’re already using Play Music in your household and pay for multiple single accounts each month. The plan will allow for 6 users to be tied to the same family plan. I’m giving some serious consideration to using this family plan to allow myself to use more than 5 authorized devices (a niche problem, I know). Is this something you would take advantage of? It looks like the plan will be available starting tomorrow so you have a bit of time to decide.

"I am currently a researcher and Adjunct Professor at Arizona State University and Grand Canyon University. I fell in love with Android with the Nexus One release and realized that it was superior to iOS in all the ways I care about. I still use a Mac (and an iPhone for the camera), but my Apple tech products pale in comparison to my number of Android devices (watches, tablets, and phones). When I’m not rooting/modding one of my many Android phones or doing math/programming, you can find me taking in Phoenix Suns/Arizona Diamondbacks games in downtown Phoenix, and drinking good beer!"
