Yesterday we posted our Nexus event preview, and the only thing left to know was the price and availability. Thanks to a report this morning from Android Police, it seems that there is no longer a mystery about either of those things. The report claims that the LG Nexus 5X will cost $379 for the 16GB base model, while the Huawei Nexus 6P will come in at $499 for a 32GB base model. It appears my price prediction from yesterday was a bit too high, and I’m glad it was! Both of these prices sound incredibly reasonable for the specs included on each phone.
While we don’t know exactly what the price increase will be for extra storage, Google has went with $50 increments in the past so this seems likely again. The report also mentions that Google will begin preorders tomorrow after the event only on the Google Store. We will most likely see both Amazon and Best Buy sell the phone later in the year as they have for past Nexus releases. Rumors are swirling that devices will begin shipping on October 5, which would be a much shorter wait than last year. Let’s hope all of this pans out, keep it locked here for all the latest Nexus news this week!
