If there was any doubt in your mind that Motorola will be announcing the Droid Maxx 2 at their press event on October 27th, be doubtful no more! Motorola Published an email app to the Play Store today. As you can see in the images above the screenshot taken for the listing shows that the emails were tapped on a Droid Maxx 2! It doesn’t get any more confirmed than this folks! The app however is uninstalable. This leads me to wonder if the app was supposed to be released yet.

This is likely an app specifically designed for the Maxx 2 and Droid Turbo that shouldn’t have hit the wild until after the devices were released. It also makes you wonder if Motorola has done this on purpose to stir up conversation and excitement leading to the event.

If the email app were currently usable it would be a pretty great email app with some pretty awesome extra features. New features in the email app include the following.

Disable sync while roaming
Progressive search capability for emails
Attach pictures from Camera in composer
Notifications for attachment download failures/cancellations
New option “Select All” for email operations
Customize peak time sync schedule
New option to choose number of emails to sync for POP account
New safe way of communicating with Google Gmail server using OAuth 2.0
Bug fixes and stability improvements.
We will possibly see this new email app in action on the Droid Maxx 2 in just a few days. Is anyone excited about the release of these devices? I am still with Verizon, and have actually considered grabbing one. I just  don’t think these will end up being very popular.
