I just updated my Nexus 6 to the latest and greatest firmware from Google, Android 6.0 Marshmallow. While using marshmallow i noticed that the phone seemed to be running much smoother than before the update. I decided to test my Nexus 6 with Android 6.0 Marshmallow against an iPhone 6s with iOS 9. I didn’t really expect for this to be a close match. I expected the Nexus 6 to lag way behind and finish several seconds behind the iPhone 6s. I was pleasantly surprised by what happened.
The Note 5 is pretty bad at managing ram and memory. I tested the Note 5 against the iPhone 6s a few weeks ago. In the video it gets pretty ugly for the Note 5. The note 5 does a poor job of managing memory. If you try to reopen an app that you had opened earlier to do something more important the phone will reopen the app from scratch. When this happens it makes your phone feel bogged down slightly. Android 6.0 seems to have fixed this issue. As you can see in the video 6.0 vs ios 9 is pretty close in terms of what it is capable of.
