The holiday season is officially upon us. With that in mind,  Shane and I both dropped videos on our Youtube channels yesterday detailing great gifts for the Android enthusiast in your life. We plan to continue bringing you great gift ideas throughout the season, so I thought I’d round-up our videos here in a regular written series. Firstly, go check out those two videos, you can catch them right here:

I had a lot of fun shooting this video, and as you can see from the thumbnail, Shane obviously enjoyed making his video as well. Here are a few quick thoughts on each of the products I reviewed in my video:

  1. Zilu Car Mount-Great mount at a solid price of only $11.99. This mount can be used for phones up to 5.7 inches and is very sturdy when used on the dash. In addition to using as a car mount, this product can also serve as a small swivel stand for your phone at the office or at home on your desk!
  2. Lumsing Grand A1 Fit 10,500 mAh Battery Charger– This is the smallest 10,5000 mAh portable charger out there! You get 2.1 A per port or 3.0 A output overall, with intelligent charging to interpret the output needs of your device. In addition to the portable charging power, you also get a flashlight so you can throw this in your car for charging emergencies and have a spare flashlight on hand. At only $21.99 this is a great stocking stuffer for friends or family.
  3. Zilu 6-port USB Desktop Charger A very simple product that is also necessary for any gadget enthusiast or tech-head in your life. I have two of these setup on my desk to charge all my phones, tablets, smartwatches, and other gadgets. Pick one of these up for yourself or a friend with your passion for tech! Only $18 on Amazon, a great small gift or stocking stuffer.
  4. ASUS Zenwatch 2– This is definitely the most expensive product in the first round of gift ideas, but it is also a great value to break into Android Wear. If you have a significant other or friend you want to get into wearable tech, but don’t want to spend $300+, this is definitely the watch to look at. Pricing for this watch ranges from $129-$199, and is a great value. I’ll have a full review on this watch once I have some time with it!

That’s it for this first edition of our HOA Gift Guide, be sure to come back next week for Part 2…and stay HIGH on Android!

"I am currently a researcher and Adjunct Professor at Arizona State University and Grand Canyon University. I fell in love with Android with the Nexus One release and realized that it was superior to iOS in all the ways I care about. I still use a Mac (and an iPhone for the camera), but my Apple tech products pale in comparison to my number of Android devices (watches, tablets, and phones). When I’m not rooting/modding one of my many Android phones or doing math/programming, you can find me taking in Phoenix Suns/Arizona Diamondbacks games in downtown Phoenix, and drinking good beer!"
