Surprisingly some Hungarian Samsung Galaxy Note 4 users are reporting that they are already receiving OTA updates to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Samsung had not even planned on updating older devices to Marshmallow until sometime later next year. Some variants of the S5 and Note 4 are still receiving updates to Android 5.1.1. Devices like the Galaxy S6 and Note 5 have still not received the update to Marshmallow. With all that being said this could be a limited rollout or a soak test.
The new build that is being pushed to devices includes a new Air command menu, and a screen off note taking app which uses the S-Pen. This also includes standard Marshmallow features such as Doze for improved battery performance while the device is idle, Google Now On Tap which provides you with search results based on the current content displayed on the page you are viewing, and this update should improve on performance. Samsung is expected to have finally addressed the memory management issues which have plagued their devices in their Marshmallow update.
Their has been now word from Samsung as to when we can expect to see this roll out to other devices. Hopefully it will be soon, and maybe this is paving the way for Android updates on the newer devices as well!
