Galaxy S7 & S7 Edge U.S. Qualcomm Gets Root!

For those of you who have been waiting to root and void your warranty on your U.S. model of Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, we have some good news, root has been achieved through use of a modified version of Kingoroot.

Currently there’s no details on how to do it yourself but we should have a full root method with repackaged root stock firmwares files once the developers get hands on it.

What this means is root for all U.S. models of Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.   Bootloader will still be locked meaning no custom recovery like TWRP but there may be other ways to install custom ROMS through ODIN or FlashFire app.

If you want full root and custom ROM availability, your bet still might be better off with an international version of Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge, which has Exynos 8890 processor and runs much more efficient than its Qualcomm brother.  I am actually typing this whole post using an international S7 Edge and after using both I have to say the Exynos version is so much faster and lag free.  You can check out how to root the Exynos Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge here.

We should have more updates on rooting the Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge but for now, the following root video should make you nice and warm inside.
