The regular Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge for T-Mobile are getting Android 5.1.1 starting today. The build numbers are G920TUVU1AOF6 and G925TUVU1AOF6 respectively. Both updates are fairly hefty at around 630 MB each, so leave some time open to install these updates. . T-Mobile posted their official list of bug fixes and improvements:
- Black boxes in email is resolved
- Camera LED flashlight is resolved
- Check for Amazon error is resolved
- Failed to reboot – error message is resolved
- Fingerprint scanner improvements
- Various bug fixes and device improvements
I will especially welcome the fingerprint scanner improvements as I have noticed some inconsistency with my Galaxy S6 scanner on T-Mobile that doesn’t seem present in my Verizon S6 Edge. One other feature some will find useful is the ability to now remove S-Finder and Quick Connect from your shortcuts in the quick settings menu. The update also enables Google’s official anti-theft feature, require you to login into your Google account even after factory resetting the device. I’m installing the update on my S6 as I write this article, so it should be rolling out to everyone fairly soon. I’ll be sure to report back if I find anymore tidbits packed in the update, in the meantime go check your phone and download it now!
