Video of Huawei Nexus prototype leaks?

Lately we’ve seen several rumors regarding the upcoming Huawei Nexus device. Right now we expect a 5.7″ QHD screen, a Snapdragon 810 or 820, and a possible fingerprint scanner. Today a new video posted by Steve Hemmerstoffer (@onleaks) shows a reported Huawei Nexus prototype. The makeup looks strikingly similar to the rendered back of the Nexus, also posted by onleaks. The back of the phone appears to show off a fingerprint scanner below the camera module. Huawei is a big fan of the rear fingerprint scanner, as evidenced by the Mate 7 release last year and reported Mate 8 leaks we’ve seen recently. Given that Android M features native support for fingerprint recognition, we expect both the Huawei and LG devices to include this feature.

The device in the video features a Matte black look similar to the Nexus 5. Upon closer inspection it also looks like the back of the device reads, “POSEIDON”, which is different from the codenames of Bullhead and Angler we’ve been hearing for the 2015 Nexus devices. It is fairly likely that the Nexus devices for 2015 will emerge around the usual October schedule so we’ll have more details soon enough. Keep it locked to HOA for more Nexus news!

"I am currently a researcher and Adjunct Professor at Arizona State University and Grand Canyon University. I fell in love with Android with the Nexus One release and realized that it was superior to iOS in all the ways I care about. I still use a Mac (and an iPhone for the camera), but my Apple tech products pale in comparison to my number of Android devices (watches, tablets, and phones). When I’m not rooting/modding one of my many Android phones or doing math/programming, you can find me taking in Phoenix Suns/Arizona Diamondbacks games in downtown Phoenix, and drinking good beer!"
