Onleaks has been bringing his A-Game here recently in the twitter sphere. Today he posted a link to several images of the Huawei Nexus 6. These images are renders based on detailed blueprints of the device which was sent out to third party accessory manufacturers. One of the most exciting bits of news we can extract for these images is the fingerprint scanner which has been placed on the rear of the phone.
I am not entirely sure how I feel about a fingerprint scanner on the back of the device. I have been using my fingerprint scanner on the front of of my Galaxy S6 Edge for quite some time and really love it. I feel like I just can’t live without it now. The rear placement may take some getting used to. I kind of felt this way about the rear buttons on the LG G3. The rear buttons felt awkward at first, but after a few days they felt natural and they really grew on me.
The renders also show a 5.7″ screen, but apparently Huawei has tested both 5.5″ and 5.7″ screen sizes so the screen intel may not be final. The renders show front facing speakers! The phone is 6.6mm thin (thinner than the Iphone6) with a thickness of 8.5mm at the camera bump. The shape of the usb port confirms that this will have USB Type-C compatibility. Both the LG Nexus 5 and Huawei Nexus 6 will drop around October or November.
