Blackberry Venice full device leak shown off by Evan Blass

The last few months we’ve heard that Blackberry is working on an Android slider phone with a full physical keyboard. We’ve seen some nice device leaks showing the touch screen portion or keyboard portion separately, but tonight Evan Blass has leaked an image of the full device via Twitter. The device is clearly running Android and features the classic Blackberry style keyboard. I’m still not sure that a slider type device can do big numbers in 2015, but it will be an interesting release. In addition to the device image, evleaks mentioned that the device will indeed be called the Blackberry Venice. He says that this device is confirmed to launch on all four major US carriers in November.

Blackberry probably has a lot to offer to Android on the security side. Google and Blackberry could have a beneficial partnership if Blackberry can bring their security software and business relationships to help Android further penetrate the business sector. What does everyone think of the full device? Would you buy a device that looks like this? Do you have a need for a physical keyboard? Hit me with your thoughts in the comments!

I would definitely be interested in a phone like this with a good hardware keyboard. I’m very interested!

"I am currently a researcher and Adjunct Professor at Arizona State University and Grand Canyon University. I fell in love with Android with the Nexus One release and realized that it was superior to iOS in all the ways I care about. I still use a Mac (and an iPhone for the camera), but my Apple tech products pale in comparison to my number of Android devices (watches, tablets, and phones). When I’m not rooting/modding one of my many Android phones or doing math/programming, you can find me taking in Phoenix Suns/Arizona Diamondbacks games in downtown Phoenix, and drinking good beer!"
