Samsung Exec Claims Samsung Pay Coming to Verizon Soon

Yesterday most users with a new Samsung flagship were enjoying their first taste of Samsung Pay as the service officially launched in the US. In addition to the incredibly convenient payment options, including the ability to pay at magnetic stripe readers, Samsung also offered a free accessory for Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Note 5 owners registering a card in the Pay app. Meanwhile all Verizon users looked on with a sad face while everyone else celebrated their new mobile payment system and free accessories.

Well, we might have some good news for everyone out there on Verizon. According to the Samsung GM of Samsung Pay, the app will soon be downloadable via Google Play for Verizon customers. This is a bit suspicious since the app was packaged in software updates for all other carriers, and is not currently available on the Play Store or Samsung’s Galaxy Apps store. Hopefully this story is true and we see Samsung Pay for Verizon customers in the next few weeks, but I wouldn’t be shocked if this doesn’t happen. Who is hoping for Samsung Pay on their Verizon device?
