Blackberry Priv Gets Hands-on Treatment from Carphone Warehouse

We know the Blackberry Priv is coming soon. Earlier this week Blackberry even posted a pre-registration page for updates on the device. Now Carphone Warehouse has went a step further by posting an official hands-on video and starting preorders for those of you in the UK. The video looks a lot nicer than the other hands-on experiences we’ve seen with the device, but it really doesn’t offer a lot of new details in terms of specs.

We do know the phone will feature a 5.4″ display with dual curved edges, very similar in style to Samsung’s 2015 edge phones. The battery is a very nice size at 3410 mAh, which should last an entire day of heavy use given the screen size. Blackberry also mentions that the camera will use a Schneider-Kreuznach lens, a bit of a departure from the typical lens and sensor manufacturers we see in high-end Android offerings. There is no pricing or official availability from Blackberry just yet, but CarPhone Warehouse is allowing preorders so that information can’t be too far off. Check out the video and let us know if you’re jumping on the Blackberry bandwagon.

UPDATE: Blackberry also sent out an “exclusive” email to those that jumped on the pre-registration list the other day, inside the email is a link to this Priv preview video on their Youtube channel:

I fell in love with Android with the Nexus One release and realized that it was superior to iOS in all the ways I care about. I still use a Mac (and an iPhone for the camera), but my Apple tech products pale in comparison to my number of Android devices (watches, tablets, and phones). When I’m not rooting/modding one of my many Android phones or doing math/programming, you can find me taking in Phoenix Suns/Arizona Diamondbacks games in downtown Phoenix, and drinking good beer!"
