Upcoming Samsung Wearable Leaks-Primarily Fitness Focussed

As we head toward MWC we will undoubtedly see more and more leaks for products that will be introduced at the event. We already know that Samsung will likely unveil the Galaxy S7. S7 Edge, and S7 Edge+ smartphones at or around MWC. In a report today SamMobile suggests Samsung may also unveil a fitness focussed wearable at the event. The wearable carries a device number of SM-R150 and features a rotating bezel just like the Gear S2. One new feature for this device is the ability to remove the watch body from the strap and place it on your body or clothing to monitor various aspects of your workout. The device will reportedly feature Samsung’s new Bio Processor, which will allow the wearable to track reps, water intake, and even waist measurements.

If Samsung chooses to release this device, they may do so without the traditional smartwatch features. This would certainly bring the price down a bit, and help the watch compete with FitBit and other fitness trackers. I would personally prefer to have smartwatch features along with these exciting new fitness additions, but we will see what develops in future leaks. Would you bring interested in a device like this if it doesn’t include traditional notifications?

I fell in love with Android with the Nexus One release and realized that it was superior to iOS in all the ways I care about. I still use a Mac (and an iPhone for the camera), but my Apple tech products pale in comparison to my number of Android devices (watches, tablets, and phones). When I’m not rooting/modding one of my many Android phones or doing math/programming, you can find me taking in Phoenix Suns/Arizona Diamondbacks games in downtown Phoenix, and drinking good beer!"
